Meeting a beloved younger friend for a weekday lunch to receive her wedding invitation, the writer ordered basil margherita pizza and truffle mushroom cream gnocchi — the pizza light and bright, the gnocchi chewy and creamy, pairing well together. Even on a weekday the restaurant was busy but never loud, making it easy to talk and linger over the meal.
