Hongdae dinner spot for beef gomtang and tteokgalbi: Baengni Gomtang
Baengni Gomtang is a recently opened Korean restaurant serving hanwoo beef gomtang (clear beef bone soup) and yukhoe bibimbap, a 3-minute walk from Hongik University Station in Mapo, Seoul. Arriving after work on a weekday at 7pm, the writer ordered hanwoo gomtang for 12,000 won, soy-sauce yukhoe bibimbap for 13,000 won and handmade tteokgalbi (grilled beef patty) for 9,000 won, and liked the generous beef on the soup, the clean broth and the bibimbap rice that never turned sticky. Baengni Gomtang earns a 200% return rating and works just as well for a solo dinner as for a group.
