Cleansing balm for dehydrated oily skin: HEEDA Jirisan Charcoal
In short
HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal Cleansing Balm is a Korean cleansing balm I tried for dehydrated oily skin with blackheads and uneven texture around my nose. It melted smoothly and felt less tightening after cleansing, though the product seemed to run out quickly with daily use.

What skin concerns did I use it for?

I have dehydrated oily skin: I feel dryness and inner tightness, yet also have a lot of sebum. I was concerned about blackheads around my nose and uneven texture on my chin and cheeks. Even after cleansing thoroughly, it felt as if residue remained, and I also noticed tightness and redness after cleansing too vigorously.

What were the texture and cleansing process like?

I used the included spatula to scoop it out. Although the balm initially looked firm, it melted on contact with my hands. I gently massaged it over my face, then added water to emulsify it. The formula turned white during emulsification, and the finish felt fresh.

How did my skin feel after cleansing?

In my use, I did not feel stinging while massaging it in or severe tightness after cleansing. My skin tended to retain moisture afterward, and I was pleased because the blackheads and uneven texture around my nose looked reduced in the mirror. However, this is the writer’s personal experience.

Were there any drawbacks?

I was disappointed that the product seemed to run out quickly when I used it every day. Still, its gentle feel and how my skin felt after cleansing suited my concerns well, so I am considering repurchasing it.
