Charcoal cleansing duo for dry skin double cleansing: HEEDA
In short
HEEDA is a charcoal cleansing balm and foam cleanser duo tested on dry, redness-prone skin in Korea. I used the balm as a first cleanse after makeup and the foam as a second cleanse; both felt fresh afterward with little tightness or slipperiness.

How did I use it for double cleansing on dry skin?

On days when I wore sunscreen, base makeup, eye makeup, and lip makeup, I used the cleansing balm for my first cleanse and the foam cleanser for my second. I usually find balm formulas more comfortable than cleansing oils, and I removed my lip and eye makeup with the cleansing balm first, without a separate lip-and-eye remover.

I spread the cleansing balm over my dry face and gently massaged areas where blackheads and texture concerned me, such as between my brows, my nose, the area above my upper lip, and my chin. Its black formula made it easy to see any areas I had not applied it to.

What were the cleansing balm and foam cleanser textures like?

Both products were black because they contain true charcoal. The cleansing balm turned into an oily formula on my face, making it easy to massage, while the foam cleanser felt thick and dense.

I used the foam cleanser on a slightly damp face. It produced abundant, resilient foam, which felt good to use for the second cleansing step.

How did my skin feel after cleansing?

My skin felt moisturized and clean after cleansing, without much tightness. It also felt fresh, with less of the slippery feeling I had experienced with mildly acidic cleansers. My husband, who prefers alkaline cleansers, also said this foam cleanser felt fresh.

For me, as someone concerned about dryness but who double cleanses after makeup, it was a convenient combination to use the cleansing balm and foam cleanser separately.
