Air-conditioned Hongdae bar for salted boneless barbecue: Kkoko Land
Kkoko Land is a two-story outdoor bar (야장) in Mapo, Seoul, near Sangsu Station on Wausan-ro, with a retractable roof. Visiting on a summer night, the writer ordered charcoal-grilled salted boneless chicken barbecue, wrapped it in green onion kimchi, and finished four bottles of soju without ever feeling the heat thanks to full air conditioning. With none of the usual outdoor-bar drawbacks — cleanliness, cramped seats, or outdoor toilets — it's a solid pick even for a date.
