Charcoal cleansing balm for combination skin: HEEDA Jirisan
In short
I tested HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal Cleansing Balm for one month as the first step of my evening cleansing routine for oily-dehydrated combination skin. It felt comfortable to massage over makeup and left my skin feeling less tight after double cleansing, though the black formula may seem unfamiliar at first.

How did I use it in the evening for combination skin?

During dry seasons, I was concerned about tightness after removing my makeup. I used this product every evening as the first step of my skincare routine.

- I scooped out about a 500-won-coin-sized amount and spread it gently over my dry face.
- I added lukewarm water little by little and massaged it to emulsify.
- I finished with a light second cleanse using a foam cleanser.

How did it feel when removing makeup?

Its soft, cream-like texture made it easy to use while massaging. I also used it to remove waterproof mascara, and I found the way the formula softened as I added water memorable.

After the second cleanse, I did not notice much residue, and my skin felt less tight afterward. Although I have sebum concerns in my T-zone, I was satisfied that my U-zone felt less dry.

What should you know before using it?

The black formula may feel a little unfamiliar at first. However, it rinsed off cleanly afterward. I also found it convenient to pack and use while traveling.

How can dry and oily areas be adjusted for?

When dryness concerned me, I used plenty of water. For areas with sebum concerns, I tried massaging a little longer. I adjusted the cleansing time and amount of water according to my skin condition.
