Sokcho market snack stall, ₩17,000 half-and-half set: Hwangbuja Twigim
Hwangbuja Twigim is a squid sundae (stuffed squid) and tempura stall inside Sokcho Tourist and Fisheries Market in Sokcho, Gangwon. The queue on a weekend evening was long, but the half-and-half set of squid sundae and king prawn tempura for 17,000 won and the red snow crab meat tempura for 10,000 won were ordered and paid for up front, then collected quickly while moving along the line. Taken back to the hotel and laid out, the golden-fried squid sundae and the plump king prawn tempura were the most memorable part of the order.
