Late lunch at Sinnonhyeon gyukatsu restaurant Ichigyu: three sauces

Ichigyu Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Branch is a gyukatsu (Japanese-style fried beef cutlet) restaurant on the second floor of a building about 190m from Exit 4 of Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Arriving around 2pm for a late lunch, the writer ordered the Ichigyu gyukatsu (19,500 won) and the steki set (19,500 won), grilled each piece on a mini brazier in Isigny butter, and tried it three ways with salt, wasabi and chili sauce, while the unlimited rice arrived in its own pot on the table. On a day when a full grill feels like too much at lunch but you still want beef, Ichigyu Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Branch is a light yet filling choice.

Hojicha choux milk tea at a Gangnam café: Something About Coffee

Something About Coffee is a dessert café in Gangnam, Seoul, near Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station, using all three of its floors. After a dental checkup and lunch with her younger sibling, the writer came here for a round two of chatting over hojicha choux milk tea, black sesame fig cheesecake, and lemon pound cake. With a long dessert lineup and a different mood on every floor, Something About Coffee makes choosing both the menu and the seat part of the fun.
