Korean BBQ in Yeondong, Jeju: 3 cuts on charcoal at Dolgyeok Hanwoo

Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a hanwoo (Korean beef) and black pork charcoal grill restaurant on Nuwemaru Street in Yeondong, Jeju City, about 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport. For a first-night dinner in Jeju, one portion each of hanwoo skirt steak, galbisal (rib meat) and cubed black pork jowl went on the charcoal, finished with rice and the complimentary hanwoo brisket miyeokguk (seaweed soup). The marbled hanwoo tastes best switching between salt, wasabi and whole grain mustard sauce, making Dolgyeok Hanwoo a place worth returning to with parents.

Jeju black pork restaurant with a weekend 5pm wait: Pork80

Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch is a charcoal-grilled black pork restaurant on Noyeon-ro in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City. On a weekend visit at 5pm, one 600g plate of Nanchuk Matdon black pork was grilled at the table by staff, and switching between matcha salt, wasabi and meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) made the same cut taste different with every bite. A wait had formed by the end of the meal, so booking Pork80 through Naver Reservation before you go is the safer plan.
