Hongdae bar for 4pm day drinking with green onion kimchi: Kkoko Land
Kkoko Land is a two-floor open-air bar in an alley near Sangsu Station in Hongdae, Seoul. Arriving around 4pm for a weekend day-drinking session, the writer ordered the charcoal chicken barbecue and kettle odeng (fish cake soup), and the sharp bite of the complimentary rolled green onion kimchi cut through the smoky chicken. With baseball on large screens across three walls and a waterwheel at the entrance, Kkoko Land suits a loud round of drinks with friends more than a quiet dinner.
