Corn-topped mentaiko monjayaki and celebration flags in Mullae: Jojo
Jojo Mullae Branch is a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant tucked into an alley a five-minute walk from Exit 1 of Mullae Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. For a weekday-afternoon gathering to hand out wedding invitations, the writer ordered the 2-person monjayaki set — mentaiko monjayaki, karai yakisoba and waterfall potato — added a corn topping, and got a flag service where staff planted a friend's pre-written congratulations message in the dish. A missed kaisen okonomiyaki order and a forgotten phone-charging request were letdowns, but the food, prices and mood at Jojo Mullae Branch all satisfied.
