Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch is a shabu-shabu restaurant on basement level 2 of Delight Square 1, by Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. On a Sunday evening the clear mushroom broth came with one serving each of prime chuck flat and eye round, ordered separately to compare, and the meal ended with egg porridge cooked at the table and a cup of omija tea. For a weekend worn down by rich, spicy food, Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch was the easy-on-the-stomach finish.

Sindorim Korean restaurant revisit: large bossam set for two

Sindorim Sambaekga is a Korean restaurant serving jokbal (braised pig's trotters), bossam (boiled pork with wraps) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), tucked inside the Sindorim Prugio 1 shopping complex near Exit 1 of Sindorim Station in Guro, Seoul. After the bossam sold out on a Friday evening, the writer came back at weekday lunch and ordered the large bossam with the kalguksu set for two, and the pork stayed hot because it was set over a tabletop burner. With fatty and lean cuts mixed on one plate, the bossam alternated well with the kalguksu broth and made the return trip worth it.
