Rainy-day couple lunch at a Yeonnam pork cutlet spot: Katsu Monster

Katsu Monster Yeonnam Main Branch is a 200-hour dry-aged pork cutlet restaurant a 5-minute walk from Hongik University Station Exit 3 in Mapo, Seoul. On a rainy day the writer and her boyfriend ordered the premium loin katsu (gabisal) for 16,000 won and the kimchi katsu nabe for 16,000 won, eaten with kelp and hijiki rice and a punchy kimchi broth. The juicy, well-marbled loin katsu was the standout, making Katsu Monster worth a return visit for a Yeonnam-dong date lunch.
