Sundubu stew and bulgogi for three at Bap Jangin, a Hongdae restaurant
Bap Jangin Hongdae Branch is a stew-and-bulgogi Korean restaurant in a Donggyo-dong alley near Exit 8 of Hongik Univ. Station in Mapo, Seoul. Three of us ordered jjageuli (thick pork stew), a soft tofu stew and bulgogi at 13,000 won with three bowls of rice, and the winning formula was sprinkling gim (seaweed flakes) over the rice, then spooning stew broth and bulgogi on top. Stews are 11,000 won with rice included and there is a self-serve side dish bar, so the full house at dinner made complete sense.
