Seoul Korean restaurant near Ssamziegil, 10-minute wait: Wolhadong
Wolhadong is a pork gomtang (pork bone soup) restaurant in an alley near Ssamziegil in Insadong, Seoul. After a roughly 10-minute wait at weekend lunch, the writer took the bar counter facing Wolhadong's open kitchen with a child and ordered two Wolha gomtang at 12,000 won each, a half plate of cold jeyuk (sliced boiled pork) at 10,000 won, and a glass of sogokju rice wine at 5,000 won. Even a child who cannot handle spice ate well, and the sogokju pairing that cut the richness of the pork was the highlight.
