Hyehwa pub with shrimp gangjeong and gopdori-tang: Hyehwahwa
Hyehwahwa is a Korean pub near Hyehwa Station in Jongno, Seoul, and its signature dish is straw-fire seared spicy gopdori-tang, a hot pot of gopchang and chicken. Arriving just after 6pm on a weekday, the writer found Hyehwahwa nearly full an hour later, and ordered the gopdori-tang at 26,000 won and shrimp gangjeong (sweet crispy fried shrimp) at 15,000 won. The gopchang had no gamey smell at all, and with its open window seats Hyehwahwa is an easy pick for dinner and drinks in Hyehwa.
