Seolleung sushi bar for filefish liver and amberjack nigiri: Sakai

Sakai is an okonomi sushi sakaba (sushi izakaya) in an alley five minutes from Seolleung Station Exit 1 in Gangnam, Seoul. Sitting alone at the counter, the writer ordered seasonal nigiri one piece at a time — filefish with its liver, jaetbangeo (amberjack), scallop, benjari (grunt), akami zuke, otoro and uni — then finished with sabа miso-ni (mackerel simmered in miso) and nambalge crab. Open until 1am, Sakai is a good call when a single piece of sushi is what you want late at night.
