Weekend lunch: bulgogi and barley risotto at Modam Urban, Yeongdeungpo

Modam Urban is a Korean restaurant on L3 of IFC Mall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. For weekend lunch with a friend, the writer ordered the smoky bassak bulgogi and the barley cream risotto topped with chicken, each ₩29,900, plus six free appetizers including mung bean porridge and perilla oil capellini. Wide tables and a separate private room make it work for everything from casual catch-ups to family gatherings.

Balsan Station Korean BBQ with baby chair and weekend lunch: Ihwajeong

Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga Magok-Balsan Branch is a pork rib restaurant in Gangseo, Seoul, a 3-minute walk from Exit 4 of Balsan Station. Visiting for a weekend lunch with a baby, the writer ordered three servings of seasoned pork shoulder ribs (300g) and mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), and staff quickly set up a baby chair and dishes while grilling the meat, making it easy to eat while watching the baby. With a separate 4-story parking building, it was a convenient spot for a family outing by car.
