Ikseon-dong bakery with no queue for black sesame cream bread: Munhwa
Munhwa Bakery is a takeaway-only bakery a 3-minute walk from Jongno 3-ga Station, on the way into Ikseon-dong, and is often called one of Seoul's top three bakeries. On a rare day with no queue, coffee bread (5,800 won), sweet potato bread and black sesame cream bread went home in a box, and all three had a soft, castella-like crumb. The coffee bread at Munhwa Bakery had a deep coffee aroma and cream that never turned heavy, making it the one to grab again.
