Hongdae hanok restaurant for a Sunday lunch with jangajji: Anok

Anok is a hanok-style Korean restaurant in an alley off Hongik-ro near Hongik University Station in Mapo, Seoul. On a Sunday visit at around 1pm, the meal was Pyongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) for 14,000 won, clear pork gomtang (beef-style clear broth soup) for 13,000 won and braised pork tail for 29,000 won, all served with kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi) and jangajji (pickled vegetables). The two mild dishes and the richly seasoned pork tail balanced each other well, making Anok a satisfying Sunday lunch in Hongdae.
