Usu is a private-room hanwoo (Korean beef) course restaurant right by Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station in Mapo, Seoul. Booking for two, the writer was seated in a four-person room and worked through the 79,000-won Lunch C course (80g): beef-and-chicken porridge, three bite-sized dishes, shiitake shrimp with zucchini, abalone five-color gardenia noodles, charcoal-grilled 1++ hanwoo, sea bream pot rice, and a corn dessert. With three hours of free parking and no limit on the number of cars, it's a solid pick for a family meal or a formal meeting between families.
