Jongno Korean BBQ with air conditioning on a 30°C day: Meongseokjip
Meongseokjip Jongno 3-ga Branch is a street-BBQ-style Korean BBQ restaurant on a side alley beside the Ikseon-dong hanok village in Jongno, Seoul. Arriving right after opening, the writer ordered the meongseok set (aged pork belly for two plus flower pork collar for one) with rice and the owner's pick, beef brisket doenjang stew, and refilled the self-serve green onion kimchi twice. Even on an autumn day that hit 30°C, the air-conditioned indoor seats kept the open-air grilling mood comfortable instead of sweaty.
