Clear vs spicy gomtang taste test in Insadong, Jongno: Wolhadong
Wolhadong is a gomtang (Korean beef/pork bone soup) restaurant in a hanok in Insadong, Jongno, Seoul, a 4-minute walk from Exit 5 of Anguk Station. The writer ordered the clear Wolha Gomtang, the spicy Hong Gomtang, and a half plate of cold pork to compare the mild broth against the chili-oil version, which tasted more like a Thai or Hong Kong soup than a typical Korean spicy stew. The clear, light Wolha Gomtang paired with cold pork was the most satisfying combination.
