Ansan kimchi jjigae restaurant with skin-on pork topping: Choburi

Choburi Kimchi Jjigae Gojan Main Branch is a third-generation pork kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) restaurant in the back alley behind the BYC building at 25-si Plaza in Gojan-dong, Ansan. On a reserved weekend lunch, two servings of the stone-pot rice kimchi jjigae set (11,000 won per person) came with a 5,000-won skin-on raw pork topping, simmered at the table for 7 minutes on a timer set by the staff. Thick Korean pork, a sharp, spicy broth and free refills of rice, banchan and ramyeon noodles make Choburi Kimchi Jjigae a 200% return visit.
