Pyeongtaek noodle restaurant with kimchi rolled dumplings: Songdam
Songdam Kalguksu is a hand-cut noodle and hot pot restaurant on Gangbyeon-ro in Anjung-eup, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. Because the shabu-shabu menu is served on weekdays only, this weekend dinner was one serving of octopus kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup) and one of beef kalguksu, with mixed vegetables, extra beef and self-serve egg porridge added to eat it shabu-shabu style, plus kimchi gulrim mandu (rolled dumplings). Starting with the clean all-purpose broth, turning it spicy midway with dagadi (chili seasoning paste) and finishing with noodles and egg porridge makes a meal filling enough for two.
