French restaurant in Gongneung-dong, Seoul: LA RUELLE onion soup
LA RUELLE is a French restaurant on the second floor of a building in the Gongni-dan-gil alley of Gongneung-dong, Nowon, Seoul. Visiting for a friend's birthday, the writer went through a pre-meal appetizer, onion soup caramelized for 12 hours, salmon tartare, boeuf bourguignon, drip coffee and Mariage Frères Marco Polo black tea, then received a handwritten note and an egg tart at the end. After that meal it is easy to see why LA RUELLE is booked so often for pre-wedding gatherings, invitation parties and anniversaries.
