Anniversary opening-run kaisendon at Makise Hapjeong, Mapo
Makise Hapjeong is a kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) specialty restaurant on the basement floor near Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. To celebrate a first wedding anniversary, the writer arrived right at opening as the first customer and ordered the A set with today's sushi, uni, tuna sashimi, and crab cream croquette added on, plus a complimentary grilled salmon head. Thick-cut sashimi, a rich soybean-paste-style broth, and warm service made for a satisfying anniversary meal.
