Cartilage and scallion skewers at Yakitori Iyu, a Hongdae yakitori bar
Yakitori Iyu is a charcoal-grilled skewer izakaya on Jandari-ro near Hongik University Station in Mapo, Seoul. The order was the five-skewer assortment with a scallion skewer and an asparagus skewer added separately, eaten at the bar table with a front-row view of the skewers going over the charcoal. The cartilage skewer with its crunchy bite, paired with the three sauces including cheongyang chili pesto and shichimi, was the most memorable part of the meal at Yakitori Iyu.
