Charcoal cleansing balm for sensitive dry skin: HEEDA Jirisan

How did it feel on sensitive, dry skin?

I tend to switch between different cleansing oils and balms, and this one stood out for its black balm texture with fine activated-charcoal particles. It came with a spatula, which could be stored in the lid after use.

How did the balm texture change?

It seemed slightly clumped at first, but softened into a smooth, oily texture as I massaged it onto my skin. When I used it on makeup days, it did not feel strongly irritating, and I felt that my makeup was removed cleanly in one use.

Because I have dry skin, my skin did not feel severely tight after cleansing. I thought it could be worth trying for anyone concerned about blackheads around the nose and bumpy skin texture.

How did I emulsify it?

I gently massaged it in circular motions until the balm melted like an oil with my skin's warmth. The instructions say to add a little water to emulsify it until white, rinse it off, and then rinse several times with lukewarm water.

My final impression after trying it

The black charcoal balm texture and the way it melted smoothly were memorable. For my dry skin, which prefers less tightness after makeup cleansing, it was satisfying to use.
