Dongtan kalguksu restaurant with kid-friendly clear broth: Deungchon
Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Gran Passage Branch is a shabu kalguksu (hot pot noodle) restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gran Passage near Dongtan Lake Park in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. Dining with her 4-year-old daughter, the writer ordered mushroom kalguksu in clear broth for two with added meat and ate it as a full course, from the shabu hot pot to the noodles, dumplings and egg vegetable fried rice. The couple normally order only spicy broth but fell for the clear broth at Deungchon, and the biggest win was their veggie-averse daughter happily eating bean sprouts.
