Gyukatsu restaurant across from Gwangmyeong City Hall: Hoka Hoka

Hoka Hoka Gwangmyeong Main Branch is a Japanese restaurant on the first floor of Bobostel, directly across from Gwangmyeong City Hall in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi, specialising in gyukatsu (Japanese-style beef cutlet) and cold ramen. Arriving right at the 11:30 opening, the writer ordered 1.5 servings of gyukatsu (₩27,000), seared on a mini charcoal grill just until the pink faded and topped with wasabi, alongside a yuzu-scented cold ramen (₩11,500). The pairing was excellent, though 1.5 servings is not a large portion for a hungry adult, and a lunch queue forms right after opening at Hoka Hoka, so book ahead or arrive early.
