Iksan Chinese restaurant with old-style tangsuyuk: Hwangbihong

Hwangbihong is a neighborhood Chinese restaurant that has stayed in the same spot in Busong-dong, Iksan, Jeonbuk for more than 20 years. A family of three arrived at 5pm, just as break time ended, and ordered mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) and meat jjamppong (spicy noodle soup), then added a bowl of rice to soak in the broth made from Hanwoo beef bones simmered for 24 hours. Between the freshly fried old-style tangsuyuk and the green chive-flecked handmade noodles, Hwangbihong is the place to mention to anyone hunting for Chinese food in Iksan.
