Gwangju Cheomdan Chinese restaurant for family meals with kids: Mayway
Mayway is a Chinese restaurant in Cheomdan, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, carrying on Daeheung Banjeom in Dong-gu from the 1950s and newly opened in Cheomdan in July 2025. On a Sunday afternoon the writer and the kids ordered the 1-person set meal (jjajangmyeon, jjamppong and sweet and sour pork), spicy webfoot octopus jjajang and seafood nurungji-tang (crispy rice soup), including the tableside performance of pouring the sauce over a hot stone plate. With a free self-serve banchan bar, unlimited rice and ice cream after the meal, Mayway made for a satisfying family outing.
