Sinsigaji Jeonju pork belly set with kimchi stew: Mongyudo
Mongyudo Sinsigaji Branch is a low-temperature aged pork belly (samgyeopsal) restaurant in the Sinsigaji district of Jeonju, Jeonbuk, directly across from the main gate of the Jeonbuk Provincial Office. For a last-minute dinner, the writer ordered the two-person set with soju and cola and added the teungmoksal (premium pork neck) kimchi stew, and a staff member pre-seared the meat and grilled it through on a cast-iron plate. With three kinds of soup on the menu plus a full spread of side dishes and sauces, Mongyudo is a place worth returning to.
