Gangneung hanwoo grill restaurant, 500g four-cut plate: Chodang Uga

Gangneung Hanwoo Chodang Uga is a charcoal hanwoo (Korean beef) grill restaurant in Gangmun-dong, Gangneung, near St. John's Hotel by Gangmun Beach. The writer came with both parents and ordered the half-portion hanwoo platter, 500g for 133,000 won, which arrives on one plate with sesal (rib finger), deossal (chuck rib cap), buchaesal (flat iron) and chadolbagi (brisket), plus basic side dishes, a self-serve corner and a serving robot. Chodang Uga suits a family dinner where everyone wants to taste several cuts in small amounts.

Buckwheat lunch with parents in Bongpyeong, Pyeongchang: Migayeon

Bongpyeong Memil Migayeon is a buckwheat specialty restaurant at 108 Gipung-ro in Bongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang, Gangwon. Three of us went as a family and shared buckwheat sprout boiled pork, buckwheat bibim noodles, buckwheat noodles, handmade buckwheat pancake rolls and Bongpyeong buckwheat makgeolli, with a memorable side of garlic scapes, shredded oyster and cheongyang chili plus seasoned salted shrimp. Bongpyeong Memil Migayeon is an easy place to eat local Pyeongchang food slowly with parents.
