Banwoldang Buja Sikdang Suseong Branch (반월당부자식당 수성점) is a fire-grilled Korean restaurant on Beomeocheon-ro in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu. Missing the burdock fritters from a previous visit, the writer returned and ordered the squid and pork stir-fry with cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), and the smoky sauce, ssam greens and self-serve side dish bar made it a satisfying meal for the whole family, baby included. Chilgok family Korean BBQ with roasted sweet potato: Yaksamgol Garden

Yaksamgol Garden is a wood-fire stone-plate Korean BBQ restaurant set in quiet countryside in Yakmok-myeon, Chilgok, Gyeongbuk. At Yaksamgol Garden we grilled pork belly, duck, pork neck, ham and shrimp on a maekbansok (heat-retaining stone) plate. We finished with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and perilla-leaf fried rice, and the sweet potatoes roasted over the wood fire were the most memorable part. My family praised both the atmosphere and the food, which made Yaksamgol Garden a satisfying pick for a family meal in Chilgok.
