Gyodong Nakwon is an izakaya that opened in Gyodong, Daegu, in January 2022, serving nabe dishes such as motsunabe (beef intestine hot pot) and Osaka beef brisket jjamppong stew built on a chicken broth simmered for more than 10 hours from chicken carcasses, chicken feet, vegetables, spices and kelp. Gyodong Nakwon makes its own sauces, including the shoyu tare used in its nabe and stir-fries and an aromatic oil that adds flavour, by blending several soy sauces with vegetables and spices. Gyodong Nakwon also features as signature dishes its salmon sashimi, made from Norwegian salmon aged for more than 24 hours in a blended spice sauce, and its crab tomalley pasta, which adds crab tomalley (kani miso) to a cream sauce.
For drinks, Gyodong Nakwon offers sake, traditional Korean liquor, soju and beer, along with 8 kinds of highball: Suntory, Jim Beam, Jameson, yuzu, umeshu, Earl Grey, soy milk and non-alcoholic. Seating at Gyodong Nakwon is divided into indoor floor-seating tables, bar tables and a terrace, and a beam projector on the Gyodong Nakwon terrace shows sports such as pro baseball, the World Cup and the Olympics.
