About

Ogeorijip is a Jeonju bean sprout gukbap restaurant that boils its own broth in a large pot every day before dawn. Ogeorijip makes the broth without seasoning additives, simmering dipori (dried big-eyed herring), anchovies and dried shiitake, and uses organic bean sprouts. At Ogeorijip, the gukbap is eaten by stirring in a poached egg (suran), mixing in rice, and adding salted squid (ojingeo jeotgal) on the side.

Besides gukbap, Ogeorijip serves Hanwoo ox-foot soup simmered with Hanwoo ox feet, ginseng, astragalus root and licorice root; at Ogeorijip, squid or dried pollack can be added to the gukbap, and the squid can also be ordered separately as a drinking snack. For drinks, Ogeorijip offers moju along with soju, beer and makgeolli, and since Ogeorijip opens at 6:30 a.m., an early breakfast is possible.
