Gangnam restaurant for gnocchi and cheese steak: Brivit
In short
Brivit Gangnam Station is a Western-style restaurant behind CGV in Gangnam, Seoul. I chose a set with scallion cream corn gnocchi, steak finished with cheese at the table, spicy fried eggplant, and two butter highballs. Brivit Gangnam Station is a lovely pick for a date or wedding-invitation gathering.

A pink-sign restaurant behind Gangnam CGV
After an escape room, we decided to have an early dinner and went, “Korean, Western, Chinese, Japanese—what should we eat~~?” while searching for good places nearby. I spotted a photo of gnocchi and loved it, so we headed there. If you walk up the alley behind Gangnam CGV...

...you’ll find this pretty restaurant with sooo many potted plants. The pink-pink sign stood out, and I loved the exterior vibe.

The interior was clean and pretty too.

We went for an early dinner, so it wasn’t very busy when we arrived. It was nearly full by the time we were eating, though. Most people looked like they were on blind dates or in that getting-to-know-you stage, which was kind of cute hahaha.

The cute detail: ringing a bell to order
When we sat down, they brought over the menu and a little bell. There was no separate table-call button; they told us to ring that bell when we wanted to order. Such a cute touch hahaha.

This is the menu at Brivit Gangnam Station (브리비트 강남역). I really liked that you could build the set menu however you wanted. We flipped through it and deliberated seriously, then decided on the Brie Set with steak. I wanted a highball, so I asked whether we could order one instead of a drink. They said yes with an extra charge, so that was immediately what we did. Hahaha, you can’t resist a highball, right?
- Brivit Steak
- Scallion Cream Corn Gnocchi
- Spicy Fried Eggplant
- 2 Butter Highballs
That’s what we chose, then ding ding went the bell.

Water and pickles were set up at a self-service bar. I think I liked that the water came from something like a dispenser rather than bottles even more. Those aesthetic water bottles... I’m the type to feel a bit uneasy wondering whether they get washed properly.

The set menu arrived, starting with butter highballs
The butter highballs came first. They arrived with cinnamon sticks, and the butterscotch, whiskey, and gentle cinnamon fragrance were sooo delicious. After a short wait, nearly all the other dishes came out together pretty quickly.

How was the scallion cream corn gnocchi?
The cozy, nutty aroma of corn was so good in this dish. The gnocchi was delightfully chewy too, and I liked the texture of the scallion cream.

Spicy fried eggplant and its sauce
The fried eggplant itself wasn’t especially spicy—just nicely light—and the sauce was on the spicy side. But that level of spice went so well with the eggplant, so it was good.

Steak with cheese added at the table
The Brivit Steak. The meat was cooked beautifully tender, and I liked the garnishes. The steak comes with cheese; they serve it like this first, then come to the table and add the cheese.
But this cheese was seriously amazing. I usually don’t like cheese that melts and then firms up because it gets a little rubbery, so I personally tend not to like dishes with cheese added that way. But this cheese was delicious even after it set, never turned rubbery, and wasn’t overly rich or salty—anyway, such covetable cheese...

Seriously, every dish was a visual explosion. They say food that looks good tastes good, but these dishes were delicious and lovely to look at.

I tried to make it look pretty in the photo, but it’s just so-so;; Hahaha. Being a casual blogger and taking pretty photos is hard ㅠㅠ hahaha.

That chewy gnocchi. Cream gnocchi—what is there even to say? Isn’t it love?

Tender, beautifully cooked meat with insanely good—in a positive way—cheese. Yum yum.

And the fried eggplant, which went so well with the spicy sauce.

We seriously cleared every plate. I even picked out and ate every bit of the garlic garnish hahaha. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was great, so Brivit Gangnam Station felt like a nice place for a blind date or a wedding-invitation gathering.
