Bucheon Korean restaurant for family meals: Hanchon Seolleongtang
In short
Hanchon Seolleongtang Kkachiul Station Branch is a Korean restaurant in Jak-dong, Bucheon, serving seolleongtang, galbitang, naengmyeon, and bulgogi. My family shared king galbitang, bibim-naengmyeon with galbi mandu, seolleongtang, and ttukbaegi bulgogi, and the spacious parking lot made the visit easy. A relaxed choice for a family meal by car.

I visited while looking for somewhere to eat out with my family, and it was great that everyone could choose what they wanted, with options ranging from seolleongtang (ox-bone soup) to king galbitang and naengmyeon (cold noodles).

Above all, perhaps because there is a mountain near the restaurant, the air around it felt clear and peaceful. I was in a good mood from the moment we headed there for our meal.
Exterior and interior atmosphere

Hanchon Seolleongtang Kkachiul Station Branch (한촌설렁탕 까치울역점) is in Jak-dong, Bucheon. Rather than being in the middle of a busy downtown area, it has a more relaxed atmosphere, so it felt like a good Jak-dong restaurant for an easy meal with family.

What I especially liked was the spacious parking lot. When families eat out, several people often travel by car, so having plenty of parking space was definitely convenient.

The interior also had an atmosphere that made it comfortable for a group meal. It looked good for a family meal like ours, or simply for dropping in for a comforting bowl of hot soup.
Menu selection and self-service station

As you would expect from a seolleongtang restaurant, the menu ranged from basic seolleongtang to galbitang and bulgogi, making it easy for a family to choose according to individual tastes. We ordered king galbitang, bibim-naengmyeon with galbi mandu (beef rib dumplings), seolleongtang, and ttukbaegi bulgogi (bulgogi in an earthenware pot).

The self-service station had rice, green onions, salt, and more. If you like adding a generous amount of green onions to your seolleongtang, it is convenient to take as much as you need.
From king galbitang to ttukbaegi bulgogi

The king galbitang was satisfying, with hot broth and large beef ribs to enjoy together. The meat was tender, and it came with two ribs, so the portion was generous.

Seolleongtang is, of course, a dish you cannot leave out at Hanchon Seolleongtang. You can add green onions and salt to your taste, and having rice with the warm broth made for a hearty meal. I think it would suit anyone looking for a good seolleongtang spot near Kkachiul Station.

Ordering bibim-naengmyeon alongside the hot soup dishes made for a nice combination. It was especially tasty with the galbi mandu. The bibim-naengmyeon set also came with a little seolleongtang broth, which was nice.

We also ordered ttukbaegi bulgogi, and the tender bulgogi was really delicious with its sweet seasoning. Mixing rice into the sauce and eating it with the meat and glass noodles made the rice disappear so easily.
Overall, everything we ate that day was delicious, and everyone in my family was satisfied. The variety of menu choices, not just seolleongtang, was also a strength of Hanchon Seolleongtang Kkachiul Station Branch.
Kimchi, kkakdugi, and the Bucheon Love Gift Certificate

The kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) were delicious, too. At a good seolleongtang restaurant, kimchi and kkakdugi matter as much as the broth, and these went well with the hot soup.

The Bucheon Love Gift Certificate, which you can receive after visiting Bucheon Botanical Garden Luminare, is reportedly accepted at Hanchon Seolleongtang Kkachiul Station Branch. If you are looking for somewhere nearby to eat after visiting Luminare, it could be a good place to combine with your outing.
How was it for a family meal?
The spacious parking lot made it easy to visit by car, and the quiet surroundings made for a relaxed meal with family. It is also worth noting that the Bucheon Love Gift Certificate can be used here. With convenient parking and a wide selection of dishes, it was a good Kkachiul Station restaurant for a family meal. I would visit again.
