Songpa brunch with shrimp avocado salad and pumpkin soup: Que Sera
In short
Que Sera is a brunch and Western restaurant in Songpa, Seoul. I ordered shrimp avocado salad, pumpkin soup, an English muffin, and Hadong pumpkin tea while managing my diet; the salad was fresh and the peperoncino in the soup was the real kick. Verdict: a cozy brunch stop worth returning to for its house-made sandwich bread.

Do you all like brunch? I’m such an unapologetic bread lover, so if a menu item has bread in it, my eyes and hands go to it first.. haha. A delicious piece of bread with an icy coffee, ahh.. is there any better combination than that?!
But sometimes I go to a brunch place and the food is less tasty than expected or the quality is disappointing, and I get unnecessarily sad thinking, “This quality for this price..?” :( Brunch tends to be pricey, so I think I look for somewhere that gets everything right: the taste, menu selection, and atmosphere.
So today, I want to introduce Que Sera, a Jamsil brunch spot that is perfect in taste, quality, and atmosphere.

Que Sera, a Jamsil brunch spot from Samjeon Station
Que Sera is an 8-minute walk from Exit 2 of Samjeon Station, set in the residential and commercial area of Samjeon-dong, so it’s easy to reach on foot or by public transit. Good!
🅿️ There is no dedicated parking, so you’ll need to use the paid parking lot behind the Olive Young building at 130 Seokchonhosu-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul. It may be full on weekends or at peak times, so I recommend walking or public transit!

Que Sera comes from the Spanish “que sera,” meaning “what will be, will be,” much like “hakuna matata”—a space carrying the idea that everything will work out as you wish, without worry. It is a brunch and Western-food restaurant where you can step away from busy everyday life for a little rest, breathing room, and relaxation.
The wood interior and lush plants make it easy to spot. Inside, the warm, cozy wood-toned decor feels airy and spacious thanks to folding doors and large windows. A lemon-tree display with green leaves and yellow fruit is a standout detail, and the soft lighting makes it a wonderfully relaxed, comfortable place to linger!
With terrace seating, tables for two, and tables for four, it is perfect for dates, small gatherings, solo visits, or meeting up with someone!
🪑 The terrace seats are lovely for enjoying brunch in the sunshine on a nice day.

You order by QR code, so for capital-I introverts who find saying, “Excuse me~ I’d like to order~” difficult, you can order comfortably with just one finger. Good!

Shrimp avocado salad (15.5) English muffin (2.0) Pumpkin soup (6.0) Hadong pumpkin tea (6.5)

The chef runs the place alone, so please keep in mind that it may take a little time if there are orders ahead of yours!

Open kitchen and house-made sourdough bread
👩🍳 An open kitchen. The kitchen is completely visible, so you can watch the cooking process from beginning to end—more confidence in the hygiene, and more fun for the eyes!

Besides brunch, they also have tangzhong milk bread, English muffins, and scones :>

The tangzhong milk bread and English muffins used for sandwiches are house-made natural-fermentation breads, cold-fermented for more than 16 hours. So if you come to Que Sera, please get a sandwich! Pleeease! (I’m sad I couldn’t have one because I’m dieting..)

They also have salads, so it is great to visit even if you are dieting or following a meal plan. I ordered a salad because I’m watching what I eat lately, but the sandwich at the next table looked so tempting.. haha. I have to come back for a sandwich next time lol.
Self-service bar and picking up your food
Self-service bar
The self-service bar has plates, paper cups, water, napkins, and various sauces. Each table has a bag rack, so you can just slip your bag or belongings in instead of putting them on the floor. Touched by these little details.. :)

When your order is called, you pick it up at the counter yourself!
Shrimp avocado salad and Hadong pumpkin tea
Hadong pumpkin tea (6.5)
The Hadong pumpkin tea is pumpkin tea made in Hadong by Magpie & Tiger. It came in a pot, so I wondered if they had accidentally served it hot—but it was cold!! It was nutty and refreshing, and totally quenched my thirst~ I ordered it because they say pumpkin is good for reducing puffiness.. hehe..
Shrimp avocado salad (15.5)
🦐🥑 The shrimp avocado salad combines fresh greens, creamy avocado, springy shrimp, and tangy lemon balsamic.
- Ingredients: marinated shrimp / avocado / carrot râpée / chickpeas / olives / quinoa
- Sauce: lemon balsamic dressing

With crisp lettuce, bouncy and lightly sweet marinated shrimp, soft nutty avocado, and carrot râpée with a gentle sweet-tartness, it tasted clean and fresh—good for enjoying without feeling weighed down, even while dieting or meal-planning.

The chickpeas and quinoa were nutty, mild, and delightful to chew, while salty olives and tangy lemon balsamic came together in a salad where each ingredient’s flavor came through naturally rather than tasting overly strong or heavy. Tangy, nutty, and fresh!
Pumpkin soup where peperoncino is the kick
Pumpkin soup (6.0)
🎃 The pumpkin soup has the deep sweetness of kabocha pumpkin with the nutty richness of a creamy base. It is topped with a little spicy peperoncino. (Seriously, this is the kick.)
It is not a thin, bland pumpkin soup. The deep pumpkin flavor and gentle sweetness are so appealing that even people who do not love pumpkin can enjoy it without hesitation.
The soft, creamy texture brings together the nutty flavor of the cream base and the naturally gentle sweetness of pumpkin; one spoonful feels warm as it goes down and softly wraps around your stomach!!
The spicy peperoncino rises subtly through the sweet, nutty pumpkin flavor and keeps it from becoming cloying. The real kick.. (I’ll give it 100 points.)
English muffin dipped in soup
English muffin (2.0)

An English muffin is a round, flat fermented bread that can stand in for a meal.

Despite the name, an English muffin is not a sweet muffin. It is mild and nutty, slightly crisp outside, and fluffy yet pleasantly chewy inside, so it is often used for sandwiches.
Dip it into the pumpkin soup and it is delicious plus delicious—ahh, so good, right..? Thinking about it now, if I was going to add salad, soup, and bread anyway, maybe I should have just ordered a sandwich..? Hahaha.
Cleaned it all up..

Oh, private rental is available too, so ask them if you are interested :> If you are looking for Jamsil brunch, a Jamsil café, a good date restaurant around Jamsil and Seokchon Lake, a comfortable place to rest in the city, great Jamsil sandwiches, or a quiet, uncrowded Seoul brunch café, I recommend Que Sera.
