Freeze-dried curly kale powder for busy mornings

In short

This is an organic freeze-dried curly kale powder I used in Korea while getting ready for work in the morning. Mixed with water, it was milder than expected and the individual sticks were easy to carry; the main benefit was simply keeping up a one-stick-a-day routine without prep.

Between getting ready for work and preparing meals for my family, my own vegetable intake often got pushed aside. I tried this organic freeze-dried curly kale powder because it was easy to have without washing or preparing vegetables.

Is it easy to keep up with on busy mornings?

Mornings were busy with getting ready for work, and I ate lunch hurriedly at the office. In the evening, while looking after my family, washing and preparing vegetables separately felt like a hassle.

The powder came in individually wrapped sticks, so it was easy to carry in my bag. I mixed it with water in the morning, and it took about a minute to prepare even while getting ready for work.

What are the ingredients and production method?

It was described as being made with 100% organic curly kale from California.

It also stated that 512 types of pesticide residues were not detected and that it had organic and HACCP certification. These details stood out to me when choosing the product.

It was also described as freeze-dried to minimize nutrient loss and as having “1,500% concentrated ultrafine particles.” I liked the information about nutrient preservation, but what I noticed while using it was the taste and how easy it was to prepare.

Is the bitterness or grassy smell strong when mixed with water?

When I tore open a stick and poured it into a cup, it was a fine, soft light-green powder. Mixed with water, it turned green.

I was most concerned about the taste because it was a powdered vegetable product, but it was milder than I expected. The bitterness was not strong, and the grassy smell was not overwhelming. It also had almost none of the rough texture typical of vegetables, so I felt I could keep having it regularly.

How can you have it besides mixing it with water?

I mainly mixed it with water in the morning. It also went well in yogurt, and I liked the added green color. Other uses introduced in the original post included adding it to smoothies or mixing it into salad dressing.

What did I like about having one stick a day?

What I liked most was that the preparation was not cumbersome. All I needed was water, and the sticks were easy to carry, making them easy to have on days when preparing vegetables every time was difficult.

While taking it, I felt lighter and that my stomach felt comfortable. Still, more than any noticeable change, I felt greater reassurance from having had one stick that day. Since the taste was not burdensome, I thought I would keep taking it for a while.
