Aewol black pork restaurant, 5:30pm geun-gogi: Nopo Dwaeji Aewol

Nopo Dwaeji Aewol is a black pork geun-gogi (thick-cut pork sold by the geun, about 600g) restaurant on Gwakji 9-gil in Aewol-eup, near Gwakji Beach on Jeju Island. Two diners arrived at 5:30pm, had the staff grill neck and belly geun-gogi at the table, dipped each piece in meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) simmered on the grill with garlic and chili, and finished with bibim hoe-naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles with raw fish). With a dedicated parking lot and a self-serve bar, Nopo Dwaeji Aewol is a solid pick for proper black pork in Aewol.
