A nail appointment for the first time in five years

I usually keep my nails short and do not really maintain them, so it has been a truly long time since I last went to a nail salon. In I went, feeling all fluttery and nervous~ My knuckles are on the thicker side and my hands are not especially pretty-shaped, so I do not usually get my nails done. But even just having my nails tidied up makes me feel so good, so I finally took the plunge(?) after a long time. TMI: I think it has been five years, since I had them done for my wedding (country girl here).

Choosing this month’s leopard-print art

The interior was so cute and pretty~ As soon as I came in, I sat down and started choosing a design. Maybe because it is fall, there were lots of reds, blacks, and burgundy shades. From this month’s art options, I chose one with a leopard-print pattern. (The older I get, the more I like flashy things. Haha.) There were so many lovely designs that I agonized over it before finally choosing one. Phew.

The salon interior is filled with pretty, colorful tones. Everything is neatly organized, with only the necessities placed where they belong. As someone who only likes things tidy, it was completely my style.

The pedicure area and waiting area were set up with the same cute feel. It seemed like a lot of thought had gone into making treatments comfortable~ It is the kind of place where you can just show up and everything is taken care of~

Careful nail shaping for the look you want

I was looked after by the nail artist, and my hands had a lot that needed doing, so she was very busy~ When I asked whether there was not too much to do, she said she enjoys tidying nails, so it is fun for her. I was so grateful to hear that~ Such a kind person..! Our conversation was fun too, so the time flew by~

I loved how carefully and delicately she worked through every nail, shaping them as closely as possible to the form I wanted! I was fine with everything, but if there is anything you do not like, she will adjust it until you are happy. Is that the difference in a professional’s eye?! She is a true nail artisan.

Scritch-scritch, file-file, swoosh~ Time for a dopamine boost. A moment of total mood reset!! Watching my nails get tidied up was so soothing and satisfying. I was unsure about the color, but she let me try a little directly on my nails, so I could decide quickly. The shade she recommended suited me so well and turned out beautifully, so I was absolutely delighted.

And here is the finished look~ Ta-da~~ Isn’t it so pretty? Once you get your nails done, you develop this habit of constantly looking at your hands. You even find yourself looking at other people’s nails more often too~ Every time I look at my hands, it makes me happy, which is such a healing point. I showed them off all around town, and everyone said they were pretty, making it an even more satisfying day. Nails = healing seems to be a proven formula. One day’s worth of healing, fully charged~~☆

Now I am thinking I should get my nails done more often~ Since I have a warm autumn color tone, darker hands, and large, thick-boned hands, I had vaguely assumed feminine colors would not suit me, which is why I did not do them often.
