A filling solo lunch near Kkachisan Station
Even when I want something simple for lunch, sometimes I end up craving something more filling once I start scrolling through the menu.

This time I decided to grab lunch near Kkachisan Station and stopped by Hekbap Kkachisan Branch. With everything from rice bowls to ramen to pork cutlet on the menu, there was plenty to choose from depending on what I felt like.

I ended up ordering the cube steak rice bowl and the tonkotsu ramen set (with pork cutlet). Laid out side by side, one was a meaty rice bowl and the other a ramen-and-cutlet combo, so I got to try two very different dishes in one sitting — a satisfying meal all around.
How to get to Hekbap from Kkachisan Station Exit 3
Hekbap Kkachisan Branch is about a 2-minute walk from Exit 3 of Kkachisan Station.

Being close to the station made it easy to stop by on a lunch break, and it also felt like a good place to set as a meeting spot.
The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, and the interior was clean and tidy, making for a comfortable place to eat.

I saw some customers eating alone and others dining in groups, so the atmosphere felt welcoming whether you're grabbing a solo lunch or coming with friends.

Ordering was easy through a tablet at the table, so I could take my time browsing the menu before picking what I wanted.
Cube steak rice bowl with smoky grilled flavor
First up was the cube steak rice bowl. It's made by quickly searing skirt meat over high heat for a deep smoky flavor, and I could smell that savory aroma the moment it arrived.

Bite-sized cubes of steak were piled generously on top of the rice, and it looked just as good as it smelled.

One bite in, the juiciness and flavor of the meat really came through, and the smoky char from being seared over high heat made the flavor even richer. The meat was delicious on its own, but eating it with the rice added a nice touch of mildness that balanced everything out.

Best of all, the meat wasn't tough at all — it was tender, so before I knew it I'd worked my way through the rice too.
Tonkotsu ramen set with a crispy pork cutlet
Next up was the tonkotsu ramen set (with pork cutlet).

Getting to enjoy tonkotsu ramen and pork cutlet together made this a great choice when I wanted a really filling meal.

The tonkotsu ramen had a rich broth that paired well with the noodles and was perfect for a warm meal — eating the broth and noodles together gave off a smooth, savory flavor.

Adding the pork cutlet on top made the meal even more satisfying. The cutlet was fried until crispy, crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside, and worked well either eaten alongside the ramen or dipped in sauce.

Getting to enjoy pork cutlet along with the ramen, rather than just ramen alone, lived up to the name of the tonkotsu ramen set (with pork cutlet) — a hearty combination I really liked.
Sharing both dishes: rice bowl plus ramen set
This time I ordered the cube steak rice bowl and the tonkotsu ramen set (with pork cutlet), and each had its own charm, which made picking between them fun.

If you love the natural savoriness and smoky char of meat, the cube steak rice bowl is a great fit, and if you'd rather enjoy warm broth alongside crispy pork cutlet, the tonkotsu ramen set is a solid choice. Both dishes were filling enough on their own to make for a satisfying lunch.
