Which rattan bag did I choose for a summer vacation?
As I planned my summer vacation, I got a bag in advance to match resort outfits. The one I chose was the Meda Bag Summer Rattan Shoulder Bag. Since it is still winter, I have not used it on a trip yet; after receiving it, I looked over its storage and how it felt to wear.
I was looking for a bag to pair with summer dresses or resort outfits. I chose a rattan bag because it seemed like it would go well with those clothes.
When I received it, it came with a storage pouch for the bag and complimentary earrings. I thought the earrings would suit a resort outfit too.
Does the beige color go with light summer clothes?
There were two colors, brown and beige, and I chose beige to pair with light summer clothes. When I received it, the color was soft rather than overly bold, so I felt it would also be easy to carry with everyday outfits.
Does it zip closed? How much does it hold?
My favorite feature was that the opening can be closed all the way with a zipper. An open bag can make me nervous when traveling, so I think the zipper will make that less of a concern.
A wallet, pouch, sunglasses, and phone all fit inside. The interior can be divided, and there is also a separate small space, so it was handy for separating cosmetics I reach for often, such as a cushion compact or lip tint, along with other small items.
How did the bag hold its shape and feel on the shoulder?
The weave was sturdier than I expected, and it held its shape rather than feeling floppy. When I received it, it also looked durable.
The size did not feel excessive to me; it felt just right. It went well with a dress I wore on a previous trip to Nha Trang, and I think it would also be easy to pair with a linen set or shorts. It was comfortable and felt secure when I wore it on my shoulder as a shoulder bag.
What did I think about washing and care?
If using a washing machine, I think a laundry bag would be needed, and personally I would recommend hand-washing or washing it separately. However, this post is based on preparing the bag in advance and looking it over before summer, so it does not include actual washing results or experience using it on a trip.
