Resort one-piece swimsuit fit review: Bohemian Blue gingham

Which swimsuit did I choose for a resort?

I have several one-piece swimsuits for indoor swimming lessons, but none to wear at a resort, so I chose Bohemian Blue's Gingham Shirring Tie-Up One-Piece Swimsuit. I received this product and tried it on.

Bohemian Blue is a swimwear brand available through its official website, Naver Store, and W Concept. I had previously worn one of this brand's one-piece swimsuits for lessons, too.

How were the delivery and contents?

When I received it, it shipped the day after I ordered and arrived the following day. The swimsuit came with a brand postcard and a plastic storage pouch.

The red I chose has a vivid color and a brand-exclusive gingham-check pattern. It has a square neckline, shirring, and tie-up ribbons.

It also came in navy, so I went back and forth over the color.

It had a hygienic plastic liner for try-ons. I have found paper stickers on other swimsuits difficult to remove, so I prefer this plastic type.

How were the stitching and fit-adjustment details?

The Bohemian Blue swimsuit for lessons I wore before had comfortable, secure seams, cuts, and fabric. This one also felt well sewn and nicely finished.

With a checked pattern, I tend to look at whether the lines align where the fabric joins. Even at the curved cut sections, the pattern matching was quite good.

The bust shirring can be adjusted with the ribbon, making it easy to set the neckline, volume, and fit how I wanted. The shoulder straps have buckles, so I could adjust their length for my torso or preferred amount of coverage. It was a comfortable detail for me, since I have a long torso.

The bra pads were built in. There is an opening for pads, so they can be added if needed or swapped for different ones.

How did the color look underwater, and how did it feel for swimming?

The pool lighting was from yellow bulbs, so the color looked a little yellowish, but the white-and-red combination remained vivid underwater. It also went well with red, white, or pink swim caps.

However, I could subtly feel resistance around the breast pads while swimming, so it was not suitable for lessons. I thought it might be fine for casual open swimming, though. With the shirring and square neck, it looks like a top, so I think it would also work with denim pants or a wrap skirt.

How was size M at 167 cm and a Korean top size 55½?

The fabric stretched well in every direction. Even after eating a full meal while traveling, it covered my stomach area just enough, so it was comfortable to wear.

I am 167 cm tall and wear a Korean top size 55½, with a long torso and a sturdy lower body. I chose M this time. Because it is stretchy, I thought S might fit too, but M is the size I actually wore. For a resort swimsuit rather than one for lessons, this was a good choice.

I liked the shape from the neckline down to the bust when I wore it. My shoulder line looked pretty, too, and the square neck covered the area beside my underarms well. For me, it was closer to a resort swimsuit for enjoying the color and fit than one for lessons.
