Seocho pork grill restaurant with pork belly and bibim naengmyeon: Yuk Tongryeong
In short
Yuk Tongryeong Gyodae Direct Store is a Korean pork grill restaurant near Gyodae Station in Seoul’s Seocho-gu. I ordered two servings of black pork ogyeopsal with mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon, and especially liked the juicy pork and mild bibim naengmyeon combination.

What is the restaurant like, and is parking available?
I ate ogyeopsal and cold noodles at Yuk Tongryeong Gyodae Direct Store. The restaurant is on the first floor of Jion Building at 69 Banpo-daero 20-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and parking is available. The hours listed in the original article are 11:30–22:30.

The entrance was covered with signs, and inside, I noticed meat that looked like meju, a fermented soybean brick.

I visited a little after dinner time, but there were still quite a few customers. The restaurant felt spacious and comfortable, and I could see why nearby office workers might choose it for a group dinner.

What did I order, and how much did it cost?
There were many menu options, so I took a while to decide. I ordered two servings of heukdwaeji wonjo ogyeopsal (black pork original pork belly), plus one mul naengmyeon and one bibim naengmyeon. The prices were as follows.
- Heukdwaeji wonjo ogyeopsal: ₩17,000 per serving; two servings ordered
- Mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup): ₩8,000
- Bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles): ₩8,000

What basic side dishes come with the meat?
The basic side dishes included salad, seasoned perilla leaves, and assorted pickles. There were several options to eat with the meat, so it was nice to alternate between them.

Does the staff grill the ogyeopsal?
The staff grilled all the ogyeopsal I ordered, so I could eat comfortably.

From the first bite, I could keep tasting the juices as I chewed. I usually eat meat quickly, but that day I found myself noticing the flavor while chewing. I also tried the prepared side dishes one by one.

Which cold noodle dish went best with the meat?
The mul naengmyeon arrived when I was starting to feel thirsty. The broth was refreshing, and it went well with the noodles, so I enjoyed it.

The bibim naengmyeon was not spicy to my taste, and the sauce was mixed evenly through the noodles. It went especially well with the ogyeopsal. If I had to choose a cold noodle dish to eat with the meat, I would recommend the bibim naengmyeon.
