I've been so busy lately that I feel like I haven't been eating properly, so on my way to run errands in Gimpo I stopped by Bomseol, a well-regarded Korean set-menu restaurant in Gimpo, for a proper, healthy meal :)

With the friendly staff who set the table for us and food that was so pretty and neatly presented, this is genuinely a great place for family gatherings! Even though it was a weekday, so many families were there for meals.

Bomseol is a place where precious ingredients — like dried yellow corvina steamed with turmeric and soy-marinated crab made with tender snow crab — pass through the hands of a certified Korean food master before reaching customers.

Why Bomseol works for family gatherings: partitioned seats and 100-car parking
Bomseol is really well suited for family gatherings — it has private partitions installed, and the dining tables are set up to be really easy to eat at.

In particular, Bomseol has parking for 100+ cars and tour buses, so it seems to get a lot of use for group gatherings and company dinners. It's a new spot, but reservation inquiries for holidays and year-end are already pouring in, apparently.

What comes with the ₩18,000 Bomseol table

I ordered the Bomseol table, which keeps that healthy flavor intact, for two. The Bomseol set comes with a basic Korean spread — stone-pot rice, salad, cheongkukjang (fermented soybean stew), and healthy side dishes — plus stir-fried pork and braised codfish. The banchan (side dishes) look neat and tidy just to look at, and seeing them in person, anyone would say they feel like homemade cooking.

The tomato caprese they told us to eat first as an appetizer was surprisingly unique. The sauce was so smooth and delicious that it really got my appetite going haha.

I personally found this fried vegetable dish interesting too — it looked like carrot and perilla leaf, but once fried they turned out so crispy that the texture was really fun. All the namul (seasoned vegetable) side dishes tasted just as approachable and delicious as a home-style rice table.

The cheongkukjang wasn't overpowering at all, so it was delicious even eaten on its own!
The self-serve bar: braised kimchi and young radish barley bibimbap
I found out too late, which was a shame, but the self-serve bar has side dish refills plus kimchi jjim (braised kimchi), dongchimi broth, and even the ingredients to make yeolmu barley bibimbap! We probably couldn't have eaten it all anyway since we were already full, but if you're looking for a really generous Gimpo restaurant, be sure to stop by Bomseol at Hansikgongan On~

How the stir-fried pork and braised pollack taste
Among the main dishes, the stir-fried pork was clean with no gamey smell, and the meat was so tender that I couldn't help but eat it in a lettuce wrap!

I'm not usually big on braised codfish, but Bomseol's version was tender, and the seasoning was so tasty it was a total rice thief haha.

If you're reading my review before visiting, please make good use of the self-serve bar for me and have an even more delicious meal!
