Paju ssambap restaurant two days before my due date: Simhaksan
Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap is a ssambap (lettuce-wrap rice) Korean set-meal restaurant on Dolgoji-gil in Paju, Gyeonggi. Two days before giving birth and fully at term, I came here with my mom at 2pm and ordered the deul-jeongsik set for two, which brought stir-fried pork and squid, pumpkin porridge, doenjang stew and stone-pot rice, plus a self-serve bar for refilling ssam greens and side dishes. The mild homemade-style doenjang stew and fresh greens made Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap an easy, comfortable meal even at nine months pregnant.
